Deep in Rychlebské Hory MountainsNot far away from our spa, some four kilometers of easy walk, there is the largest grotteau in marble to be found in the Czech Republic. Some of its stalactite forms even have signs similar to high-mountain grotteaus. You are walking through breathtaking corridors and halls, meeting a canoe-rider, baboon, cauliflower, wasp nest, or a marble dog. No wonder Grotteau Na Pomezí belongs to the most visited places in the Jeseník Region. Grotteau Na Špičáku, on the other hand, are one of the eldest grotteaus in Central Europe mentioned in written records. They have been opened for the public thanks to Priessnitz`s son-in-law Johann Ripper, a former army geographer. There is a newly renovated Renaissance fresque the Adoration of the Cross and also alchemist symbols, which are one of the oldest grotteau paintings in the Czech Republic, just as prehistoric paintings in the Býčí Skála Grotteau in Moravian Karst. |
